Have you ever seen a chained dog before? It's not a pretty sight. Some are extremely underweight because they're not given enough food, and some are overweight because they don't get any exercise. Many will bark nonstop out of frustration and loneliness.
Imagine being tied up your entire life, having no one to play with, and only being able to move a few feet in any direction. Wouldn't that drive you crazy? That's exactly what happens to a lot of dogs. Since they have virtually no interaction with people and other dogs, many chained dogs become so aggressive that they have to be euthanized.
Think about what you do when it gets cold outside (I'm talking snow and icicles kind of cold). You go inside, right? I mean, you don't want to freeze! Well, neither do dogs. Many chained dogs end up dying because there's no way for them to get warm, so they freeze to death.
Are there any chained dogs in your neighborhood? To find out how you can help them and read about Molly—a chained dog who almost lost her life during a harsh winter—submit this form for your FREE copy of "A Dog's Life." And when you're done, share the comic book with your friends so that they'll know what to do if they ever see a chained dog.
Remember, chains are for bikes, NOT dogs!
As a bonus, we'll also throw in our Kids' Guide to Helping Animals magazine, some PETA Kids sticker sheets, and four more comic books, including "A Rat's Life," "An Elephant's Life," "A Chicken's Life," and "A Cow's Life."
