Help Baby Chicks by Boycotting KFC

ChicksSpring’s just around the corner, which means a number of wonderful things are about to happen: warm weather, sunny days, blooming flowers—and fuzzy baby chicks soon will be poking their heads out of their eggshells. Although we like to think that these chicks are destined to a life full of happiness and sweetness, unfortunately this is not a reality for those raised to be used for food by companies like Kentucky Fried Chicken. PETA Kids continues to inform as many people as possible about KFC, the fast-food chain that every year kills 850 million baby chicks, starting when they are just 6 weeks old!

KFC’s chickens are forced to live in terrible conditions throughout their short lives and are then killed in horrible ways that, if described, would likely give you nightmares. After hearing this, you probably want to learn about ways to help these chickens. For starters, you can print out this KFC petition and ask all your friends, family members, and teachers to sign it. Explain to them that you want to see KFC start to take better care of its chickens and that you are boycotting the fast-food chain until it agrees to stop torturing the animals in its care. If your friends agree to do the same, ask them to sign the petition, which you can then send to us and we’ll be sure to pass it on to the head honchos over at KFC. Don’t forget to include your name, age, and e-mail address when sending us the petition:

Now when you see pictures of those precious little chicks this year, you can smile knowing that you’re doing something to help them!

We also have a fun “Save the Chicks” game for you to play. The goal is to catch and save as many chickens as you can before they are tossed into the water. Good luck!
