Name: Adara
Age: 11
Hometown: Eureka, California
Description: Adara is a passionate young lady who cares deeply about animal rights and animals. She decided to go vegetarian at the age of 4 after wondering what Charlotte from Charlotte's Web was saving Wilbur from. Her family went vegan not long after that, after discovering all the different ways that animals are abused. Adara attends gymnastics and jiu-jitsu (where she's a blue belt) regularly and participates in all team sports. She enjoys volunteering at a local animal shelter, loving on the kitties and walking the dogs. She loves to eat fresh, healthy food and isn't afraid to let her classmates know why she chooses not to eat certain foods that are brought in. She loves to bake and says that when she grows up, she wants to be a vegan baker and an Olympic gymnast.

Name: Vaughn
Age: 6
Hometown: Fairfield, Iowa
Description: A 6 1/2-year-old from Fairfield, Iowa, Vaughn decided on his own to go vegan shortly after his fifth birthday after being raised a vegetarian from birth. This past year, Vaughn has really developed his own passion for animal rights after witnessing people at a zoo taunt monkeys into throwing themselves repeatedly against the glass barrier of their small enclosure; this event motivated Vaughn never to want to visit another zoo and to declare, "I wish there weren't any zoos. Animals should be in nature." His commitment to veganism and animal rights has inspired his 4 1/2-year-old sister to also make the switch to veganism, and by sharing his values and the book That's Why We Don't Eat Animals with several family friends, Vaughn has convinced five adults to make the switch either to veganism or vegetarianism. Vaughn's favorite food is black-bean and spinach enchiladas with Daiya cheese and vegan sour cream, and his favorite activities are climbing trees, drawing, riding his bike, and digging holes in the yard. |

Hometown: Cleveland Heights, Ohio
Description: Ramona is a beautiful vegan (since birth) baby girl. She loves eating anything vegan, especially tofu, sweet potatoes, and avocados. She is extremely goofy, and her favorite phrase to say is "Oh, yeah!" We are pretty sure she loves all animals, but especially cats, pandas, and otters. |

Name: Christopher
Age: 11
Hometown: Lawrenceville, Georgia
Description: Christopher is compassionate, fun, smart, and challenging. He is the "vegan police" around the house, making sure that nothing has animal ingredients in it and that everything is cruelty-free. He chooses to give part of his allowance to animal advocacy groups and was instrumental in his father's decision to go vegan. Christopher loves sports! He has a brown belt in tae kwon do and plays soccer. But in his free time, he likes playing the piano, playing football with friends, jumping on the trampoline, and annoying his twin sisters. He's always encouraging people to show compassion to animals and is a great role model for friends and family. |

Name: Ciera
Age: 5
Hometown: Columbia City, Indiana
Description: Ciera is an avid animal lover and proud vegan. She has been vegan since conception. She will tell anyone that animals are her friends and she doesn't eat her friends. Ciera never argues or complains about not being able to have candy or foods that other kids are eating. She knows that what she eats did not cause any animal to suffer. Ciera leafleted for the first time this year and loved it. She plans to do a lot more of it. She is so proud of herself for helping to save animals. Ciera's brothers and sisters include two dogs, two cats, 10 rats, four mice, and one fish—all rescued animals. |

Name: Maya
Age: 5
Hometown: Lutherville, Maryland
Description: Five-year-old Maya, along with her two older brothers, Tyler (11) and Will (9), has been vegan since conception! Maya has been raised knowing and understanding that animals are sentient beings who are not here for our use but for their own purpose. She has been visiting farmed-animal sanctuaries since she was a baby as well as tagging along and now participating in activism for animals, such as leafleting, demos, and vegan feed-ins with her mom. To Maya, animals are definitely friends, not food! Additionally, Maya lives with her parents, brothers, and adopted dog and cats and rescued lab rats. |

Name: Dylan
Age: 3
Hometown: Westland, Michigan
Description: Dylan is a future animal rights activist for sure. Anytime someone has food around him, he will ask, "Is that vegan?" Then he will say, "Is that really from animals? That is gross, Mommy." He sees the KFC colonel "cartoon" image and says, "Mommy, that man is scary." Anywhere we go, he will ask, "Let me read the ingredients. Is it vegan, Mommy?" He will correct us if we say, "Chicken nuggets," instead of "vegan chicken nuggets." He will say, "That isn't vegan! I do not eat animals—that is mean." He is an extremely active boy, he loves Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and all things superhero. He plays hockey in the basement for hours and even has his own rock wall that he can climb. If anyone has a doubt that being vegan isn't healthy for a kid, they haven't met Dylan. |
