PETA Kids has picked our Cutest Vegan Kids contest winners. Congratulations to Vivian Anderson and Evan LeFevre! They’ve won the title of Cutest Vegan Kid, lots of cruelty-free goodies, and a trophy to show off. Read more about Vivian and Evan below.
Vivian Anderson went vegan at just 2½ years old, and she hasn’t stopped fighting for animals since. In the five years since then, she’s persuaded her brother and several family friends to go vegan, and she and her family regularly donate items to the local animal shelter that they adopted their cat, Sir Fluff, from. Vivian is the youngest student in her aerial acrobatics class, and it’s her goal to open an entirely animal-free circus one day.
Her compassion extends beyond animals, too: The young activist began making vegan snack bags with some of her favorite items—like seaweed snacks, peanut bars, and lollipops—to hand out to Portland’s homeless population.
Kindergarten student Evan LeFevre joined his mom in going vegan because he wants to help the planet and save animals. He regularly shares his vegan food with classmates, and “VeganEvan,” as he’s commonly known, even persuaded his 70-year-old grandfather to make the switch to a plant-based diet. Evan loves making videos about all the delicious vegan food he eats, and one of his videos about Thanksgiving garnered over 12,000 views in just three days.
The adorable aspiring freestyle rapper even designed his own shirt, which features this rhyme that he came up with about being vegan: “Don’t eat cows because they suffer & die. They don’t like it & neither do I!”
Thanks to all the great kids who entered this year’s contest and for all that you do to help animals. Of course, each and every nominee is a true winner for having such a big heart for animals. We hope you’ll enter again next year!
