Penelope was found lying in a parking lot, her mother nowhere in sight. It's not normal for tiny baby squirrels to be out of their nests, so the people who found her brought her to PETA staffer Benita Crow, who is a wildlife rehabilitator. Penelope joined Wally, who was orphaned when his mom was killed crossing a power line, and Filbert, who was very sick and would have died without medicine. The three babies play together like siblings. They will be released when they are old enough to fend for themselves. |
