Why did you decide to do this ad?
Pierre: [W]e've always been against fur
and against wearing dead animals as a decoration,
it's kinda...
Chuck: ...a fashion accessory, it's just dumb.
Pierre: ...something that's useless.
Chuck: It's...the one thing we can do to help out and maybe get people to listen and to find out about this, you know.
Pierre: Yeah, and at the same time it gives people...a chance to look into PETA and see what they think about it and what they can do...
What would you tell kids who want to get active for animals but don't know where to start?
Pierre: [Y]ou can start with one thing....[F]or us, we're saying no to fur, and for our fans who see [our ad], they can check out [PETA's] site and get information from there and maybe go and take another step and say, I'm going to stop eating meat now and stop wearing material made from animals.
Chuck: This is where we're at. I can tell you, I can look anybody in the eyes and say I think wearing fur is the dumbest thing in the world. Doing this shoot, I think it makes people visualize what actually happens, what goes into making a fur coat....[Y]ou have to skin an animal....[T]hat would be like taking a human being and rip[ping] his skin off and just put[ting] it on some coat 'cause it looks good. There's something we can do about fur and that's why we're here today.
