Chickens got a little help from their friend Paul McCartney, when the ex-Beatle wrote a letter to KFC that appeared as a full-page ad in the Louisville, Ky., newspaper where KFC's headquarters are located. “If KFC suppliers treated dogs or cats the way they treat chickens, they could be charged with the crime of cruelty to animals,” wrote Sir Paul, who has been a vegetarian for more than 30 years. “These remarkable animals are deserving of at least a little kindness.”
