Animals Rest In Pieces
Tens of millions of frogs, cats, dogs, pigs, worms, mice, rats, rabbits, and fish are sliced and diced each year in student dissections. Breeding facilities that supply animals to schools tear animals away from their homes, and some even use stolen or abandoned animal companions. PETA even went undercover and saw employees of one supply house embalming cats and rats while they were still moving!
It’s Not Easy Being Green...
... if you’re a frog destined for dissection, but it is
easy to speak out against cutting up innocent animals. Every
year, thousands of students just like you stand up for their
rights and refuse to take part in classroom dissections. Check
out these kids who had the courage to stand up and say “no”
to dissection:

Peter Wesolowski opposes animal dissection because he thinks it is morally and ethically wrong and goes against the Catholic teachings of his high school. Instead of carving up a pig, he was allowed to perform experiments on paper using textbooks and diagrams.

Do pickled pigs and frogs
floating in formaldehyde make you lose your lunch?
This October, make sure you wear green (for the frogs, of course),
and keep PETA “Cut Out Dissection” stickers, posters,
and leaflets handy to let others know that you choose to refuse
to dissect!

Students at Santa Fe High School wanted to put an end to dissection in their entire district, so with the support of teachers, they formed the Environmental and Animal Rights Society and went before the superintendent’s cabinet to inform her of the computer-based virtual dissection, models, videos, and other learning tools that could be used as alternatives to animal dissection. The superintendent was impressed and commended the students for researching alternatives to dissection. Not only that, they even got the New England Anti-Vivisection Society in Boston to donate $3,500 worth of models to their high school!

Two non-opposable thumbs up to Virginia for passing
a law allowing kids who don’t want to dissect to choose
humane alternatives. Florida, California, Maine, Maryland, Pennsylvania,
Louisiana, New York, Rhode Island, and Illinois already have
similar laws or policies in place. Ten down, 40 to go ...
