Joaquin Phoenix's Holiday Plea for Turkeys

Joaquin Phoenix wants you to make this Thanksgiving a vegetarian one. The Walk the Line star always does what he can to help spread the word about how to help our animal friends, and that includes not eating them. In fact, the fabulously talented vegan actor even stars in PETA’s holiday commercial in behalf of turkeys.

Turkeys are for lovin’—not the oven! These gentle, sensitive birds value their lives as much as you and I value ours, and they definitely don’t want to be the main course of any meal. Did you know that turkeys even enjoy listening to tunes, such as you and I do? The rescued turkeys at Farm Sanctuary gather around the radio and “sing” to the music.
