1. You are playing in your front yard when you see a dog running down the middle of the street without a lead on or an owner. You: a. Get your mom or dad to help the dog and keep him in your front yard while you check for a phone number on his collar tag and call the owner so they can come and collect him. b. Keep watching to see if he's going to get hit when the next car comes. c. Stay playing in the garden because the dog looked like he knew where he was going. 2. You are in the car with your parents and you see a squirrel lying still at the side of the road. You: a. Ask them to turn around and go back so you can get out and check if the squirrel is dead or just hurt and needs help. b. Think it serves the squirrel right—roads are for cars! c. Feel sad but don't say anything. 3. A cat wanders into your backyard without a collar or tag on. You: a. Take her to the local vet or animal shelter to be scanned for microchip identification and put up "found" notices in the neighborhood. b. Pick her up and throw her back over the fence. c. Watch her wander around until she moves into the neighbor's garden. 4. You find an opossum dead under a tree in your school yard. You: a. Get a teacher to help you call out a wildlife rehabilitator in case the opossum is female and has a pouch full of living babies. b. Poke her with a stick because it's funny. c. Get the cleaner to pick her up and dispose of her.
