Hit a Home Run With These Snacks for Your Team

Playing team sports is a fun way to stay healthy and hang out with your friends. If you’re on a team, you probably all take turns bringing a snack for everyone after the game. When it’s your turn, you want to bring something that everyone’s going to love and that will satisfy that postgame hunger. Playing sports can really work up an appetite, but the last thing you want after running around is an unhealthy snack—that can actually make you feel MORE tired! These snacks are all tasty, healthy, vegan, and sure to score with your teammates.

Kite Hill Yogurt Tubes

These yogurt tubes are a vegan version of Go-Gurt, and boy, are we happy we found them. They’re made with almond milk and sold in two crowd-pleasing flavors: strawberry banana and wild berry. Have them chilled or frozen.

Bananas with Peanut Butter

Bananas are really good for you and delicious on their own, but everyone knows that they go great with peanut butter. There are even single-serve packs of peanut butter that you can pick up at any grocery store.

Clementines

Truth: Food is just better when it’s cute, and you can’t get much cuter than these little oranges. They’re sweet, juicy, and oh-so-refreshing after a long game. They’re also easy to carry around.

Clif Bars

There are lots of Clif Bar flavors—you could get a mixture so that your teammates can all pick their faves. These snacks are super-filling and have lots of protein.

Sliced Apples with Peanut Butter

This classic snack is always a hit. Tip: Put some lemon juice on the slices to stop them from turning brown.

Veggies and Hummus

Hummus is one of our favorite dips! To go with it, make a small baggie filled with cherry tomatoes, pepper and cucumber slices, and celery and carrot sticks for each of your teammates.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you want to bring a sweet homemade treat, this is the way to go. Find any oatmeal cookie recipe—just use your favorite egg replacer and add dairy-free chocolate chips (we like Enjoy Life), and you’re all set.

Mini Bagels with Nondairy Cream Cheese

Mini bagels are the perfect snack size. Schmear on some nondairy cream cheese, and ta-dah! Your snack is ready. Some of our favorite vegan cream cheeses are made by Kite Hill, Daiya, Tofutti, Trader Joe’s, Go Veggie, and Follow Your Heart.

Small Bags of Popcorn with Nutritional Yeast

Pop a big batch of your favorite vegan popcorn. (A lot of brands are vegan, even the ones that are “butter” flavored—just check the label.) Then put it into small bags and sprinkle in some nutritional yeast to give it a cheesy flavor.

Make Your Own Mix

Mix any of these things together in small snack bags: almonds, sunflower seeds, coconut chips, raisins, pumpkin seeds, vegan chocolate chips, peanuts, macadamia nuts, or dried fruit.
